“The Human Lighthouse Project” is a travelling and site specific project, a performative installation between an answering machine and a late night radio show without sound and without show.
In Athens, we are looking for messages to those who are away, trying to find them in empty spaces and abandoned windows, as well as in a quiet virtual space:

This is an unsolicited community service. You can come and visit us in TWIXTlab in the night of 10./11. January, 11pm-4am, when we will be transmitting the messages into the space. Have a coffee, leave a message.

Video Art Miden Screenings

Video Art Miden collaborates with TWIXTlab to present a selection of videoart programs in a 2-day event in Athens.
The selected showcases of videoart, that will be screened during the event, are related to the general concept of TWIXTlab: “Art, Anthropology & the everyday”, having as their main theme different states of the “human condition” and highlighting contemporary anthropological issues, such as the phenomenon of “exoticizing”, the -globally current- refugee problem, as well as personal human stories (narrative or abstract) that brings us closer and connect us all.
For this presentation, we also invited Wilfried Agricola De Cologne to present a selection from the project “Refugee Film Collection” (CologneOFF).

Προβολές του Video Art Μηδέν

Το Video Art Μηδέν συνεργάζεται για δεύτερη φορά με το TWIXTlab στην Αθήνα, όπου θα παρουσιάσει μια επιλογή ενοτήτων βιντεοτέχνης σε ένα διήμερο προβολών.
Οι ενότητες που θα παρουσιαστούν σχετίζονται με το ευρύτερο ερευνητικό πλαίσιο του TWIXTlab: “Art, Anthropology & the everyday”, και έχουν σαν θέμα διαφορετικές εκδοχές της «ανθρώπινης κατάστασης» και σύγχρονων ανθρωπολογικών ζητημάτων, όπως η «εξωτικοποίηση», το -παγκόσμια επίκαιρο- προσφυγικό ζήτημα, αλλά και ανθρώπινες ιστορίες (αφηγηματικές ή αφαιρετικές) που μας ενώνουν.
Για την παρουσίαση αυτή, το Μηδέν προσκάλεσε επίσης τον καλλιτεχνικό διευθυντή του Γερμανικού φεστιβάλ CologneOFF, Wilfried Agricola De Cologne, να παρουσιάσει μια επιλογή από το project “Refugee Film Collection”.

Ομιλητές: Όλγα Σεβαστίδου (Κοινωνική ανθρωπολόγος, Παν/μιο Θεσσαλίας), Γιώργος Ανδρίτσος (ιστορικός κινηματογράφου)
Υπόθεση:
Το «Dowsing the Past» [μτφ. Ραβδοσκοπώντας το Παρελθόν] είναι ένα εθνογραφικό φιλμ που διερευνά τη σχέση μεταξύ μνήμης και υλικού πολιτισμού στη σύγχρονη Θεσσαλία. Η ταινία επικεντρώνεται σε ένα ταξίδι το οποίο έκαναν δύο άντρες από το Νέο Μοναστήρι μαζί με έναν οπτικό ανθρωπολόγο και δύο κινηματογραφιστές από την Αθήνα. Η παρέα ταξίδεψε από το Θεσσαλικό κάμπο στο «Μουσείο Εθνικής Αντίστασης Ρεντίνας», αναζητώντας ίχνη από τις βιογραφίες των αδελφών των Νέο Μοναστηριωτών οι οποίοι χάθηκαν κατά τη διάρκεια του Εμφυλίου Πολέμου. Η ταινία εξετάζει τη σύνθετη σχέση μεταξύ τοπίου και βίωσης τοπικών και παγκόσμιων «ιστοριών». Παράλληλα το φιλμ ερευνά τις κοινωνικές δυναμικές της ίδιας της εθνογραφίας, ως πεδίο μοναδικών συναντήσεων στο οποίο αναπτύσσονται, ανάμεσα σε άλλα, ένταση, χιούμορ και ταύτιση.
